Our gotcha day with Hailey is Dec 23rd. In the adoption world this is the day your child is officially yours forever. It is the day their name changes to your last name and no one will every be able to change that. It is one of the biggest days to celebrate for us. On our first ever gotcha day anniversary we celebrated by going to Comfort Inn and Suites in Little Chute and swimming for the morning. Or should I say for about an hour. The water was quite chilly for our little girl. She was shaking and blue after about 1/2 hour in the water. So we make it a short swim morning. Then off to McDonalds for lunch and more play and cookie cake. It was a wonderful morning spent with our little girl.
Christmas was just as wonderful watching her open all her presents. Actually she decided after three presents that she didn't want anymore and cried "No more present". She just wanted to play with Dora and color. I love that she is not greedy! It was a wonderful Christmas morning spent with our family. We watched her new Disney move and hung out until late afternoon and then went to Papa and Grandma Effa's. It was very nice.
Yesterday, Sunday we spend three hours down in Milwaukee with Steph our birthmom. That too was a wonderful visit. It was nice to see Hailey warm up to her and give big hugs and kisses when we left. Steph is doing very well and it is wonderful to see our relationship with her staying strong.
After our visit in Milwaukee it was back up to Kaukauna for the Lamers' family Christmas. Joe and Chris hosted and it was very nice. All the kids got to open presents and they all enjoyed playing together. It is nice to have family to spend these holidays with!
We hope everyone who follows our blog had a very Merry Christmas as well and a Happy New Year!
BIG HUGS,
Kristy, Tim and Hailey
