Visit with Birthmom & Summer Vacation

Hailey has graduated to her 0-3 month clothes finally. We had gotten such cute summer clothes for her and I was really getting worried none of them would get use because she didn't seem to be growing fast enough. Well no worries she is now in her really cute summer clothes!

We visited with Steph (Birthmom) on Friday the 10th. It was a great day to visit and shop at the Oshkosh outlet mall. It is so positive to see Steph in good spirits and excited about her first year at college starting this fall. She also brought a friend down with her to meet Hailey. I guess you could call her Hailey's aunt. Steph's friend also had a baby that she adopted out this year. The birth father was Hailey's birth father's brother. Did you follow that??? So Hailey has a cousin that is about 8 months old on her birth family side. I got to see pictures of the little girl and I must say there is family resemblance. She is really cute and has the same BIG eyes as Hailey.

The day went so well meeting with the girls and talking about their futures and how adoption was the right choice for both of them. I am really happy that Steph has a friend that has gone through the same thing she has. They support each other and know first hand what it is like to adopt out a daughter. Again, Gods hands at work in this world.

Hailey and I took a couple days and made our way up north with my family up past Eagle River. We rode with my nieces, too much fun. It is crazy how only 10 years can make you the grown up and yet I can remember so well what it was like to be 19 and full of laughter. We had a fun 3 hour ride up north. Hailey was a trooper and ate and slept, very little fuss=)

We spent two days with the family. The weather was cold, cold, cold. We put on her swim suite and took pictures but it was never exposed to the outdoors. We did go down by the water to watch the kids swim and we stayed wrapped up in a blanket the whole time. The next day it rained and was only in the low 60's. We stayed inside all day napping.

Hailey was too cute with Grandma and Grandpa. You can really tell that she knows them. Whenever they would talk to her she would smile, even for Grandpa Effa. If you know my dad you know that he has a very rough voice and Hailey loves it=)

It was a nice couple days away with Hailey. We were happy to come home to the warmth of our house. We can't wait til next year when she too and enjoy a little more of the great outdoors.
