Baptism Day

Yesterday was baptism day for Hailey. It was the most wonderful day so far in this process. Steph and her family came to the house to accompany us to church. We were able to chat a little bit before heading over to Holy Cross and talked about Steph's graduation from high school on Saturday. She said it went really well and felt really good to be done with school, until college starts in fall. She is really looking forward to her future.

We headed off to church as a combined family, brought together by one little girl. It was so amazing. Once at church we had to get Hailey dressed for the occasion. Her baptism gown did not fit in her car seat so we had to dress her at church. She was so cute once she was in her pure white gown. Grandma was there and we got a few pictures of grandma with Hailey before mass.

Then it was time to start the baptism ritual. We asked Steph and her family to be present for all the blessings before mass and the walk down the aisle into church. We have formed a new little family and it feels so right.

I must say the water works almost started when walking into church with Hailey in my arms. I felt like God was shinning down upon us and saying "This is good". Tim was at my side and we were followed by Scott & Sarah- Hailey's godparents and Steph and her family. This was the moment we had waited all this time for. TPR was done and as a new family we were welcoming our daughter into our faith, presenting her to God and bringing her into God's graces.

Standing at the baptism fountain with family watching was one of the proudest moments of my life. It does not get any better than that! Watching Scotty light the candle and having him and Sarah be such an important part of Hailey's life means so much to us.

The day continued at our house with everyone enjoying good food and family time. Steph and her family fit right in.

I don't know if Steph and her family will forever be present like they were yesterday but it was great.

Again, God has blessed us and I don't know how to thank him for this gift.
